As humanity stands at the doorstep of the Quantum Age, ready to walk through the door, let us pause before we surrender what it means to be truly human. Take humanity’s sweet review. For we are at the crossroads in time, where the old is shed, and the new skin is embraced. We are already different, and we have one foot in the old world and one in the new era of Artificial Intelligence, on the dawn of AGI.
Nobody knows how it is going to unfold or whether humanity has much more time left on the Darwinian timeline before the Singularity. What we do know is what we left behind. Art, music, literature, and more will all be produced by machines, and it has already started. So, take time to go back and see what we did together, collectively, and with our own hands and minds. Look at the beauty and listen to the music of humanity one last time. Hear the roar!
If you had a favorite musical act, go back and listen to the songs you never really paid attention to; there are masterpieces left behind that never had popularity shine upon them. Go back, listen to the sound of the humans. If you had a favorite painter, go look at the pieces that might not have stood out at the time, but now stand as part of the tapestry of humanity. Go watch your favorite movie again or one you always meant to find time for. All of it, film, art, music, and literature, stand as a living, breathing testament that we were here. Take the time and indulge in humanity’s sweet review, just one more time.
And then, take one more step, close the door behind you, and enter the unknown. Do not be afraid. We are almost done. We are almost there.
